Early Learning and Child Care Program

Saskatchewan’s Early Learning and Child Care Program supports families and communities by promoting high-quality care for children.  High-quality child care means a safe and nurturing environment for children that promotes physical, social, emotional and cognitive development in partnership with parents and communities.

Our Early Years consultant oversees the licencing of the two centres.  This consultant is to enforce the Child Care Act, 2014, and the Child Care Regulations, 2015, and to promote the high quality of care of children.

Our Early Childhood Educators (ECE) at the USSU Childcare Centres are encouraged to have their Level 3 of ECE. The ECE must have a valid First Aid and CPR along with a criminal record check (vulnerable sector check) before hiring.

All casual substitutes who fill in for regular staff when they are away must have valid First Aid and CPR, and a criminal record check (vulnerable sector check) prior to hiring.
